Reena loves a story, and she‘s fascinated by the people behind them. She loves to bring stories to life. Her appetite for storytelling has taken her from the Jerry Springer Show to the legal drama of the courtroom. From influential players to reality stars, nothing is censored here. Reena interviews people whose stories haven‘t been told, at least not through her unique lens, and then gets daddy‘s advice afterward like a good daughter does. Whether you have daddy issues or a father who‘s inspired your path, you will be able to tap into my daddy‘s wisdom, wit, and humor at the end of every episode. My daddy has been a guiding light my whole life and there‘s not much he doesn‘t know, as an entrepreneur for forty-plus years, a husband, a loyal son, and my number one supporter. He has learned lots of life lessons along the way and is here to share them with you. It‘s time to reminisce and reflect on the conversations you‘d like to have with your daddy and learn from mine. Come share in some good old-fashioned family bonding and help us up our wisdom rating. There is wisdom from four generations and I’m addressing what happens from childhood to adulthood!

224. Trust & Inspire, Once Again! Stephen M.R. Covey
Wednesday Apr 20, 2022
Wednesday Apr 20, 2022
One of nine children, Stephen MR Covey, says each of them felt like they were the favorite in the family! How do parents do that? How do you recognize your kids’ strengths and affirm them? Who has seen greatness in you? Parenting doesn’t have to be my way or the highway command and control and neither does the workplace! Stephen M.R. Covey says everyone can inspire and lead! It takes courage! Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Controversy!
Stephen M. R. Covey is co-founder of CoveyLink and the FranklinCovey Global Trust Practice. A sought-after and compelling keynote speaker and advisor on trust, leadership, ethics, and collaboration, he speaks to audiences around the world. He is the New York Times and #1 Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Speed of Trust, a groundbreaking and paradigm-shifting book that challenges our age-old assumption that trust is merely a soft, social virtue and instead demonstrates that trust is a hard-edged, economic driver. The Speed of Trust has been translated into 22 languages and has sold over 2 million copies worldwide.
Stephen is also the author of the forthcoming book, Trust & Inspire: How Truly Great Leaders Unleash Greatness in Others, which will be released on April 5, 2022. While the world has changed, our style of leadership has not. Most leaders and organizations—faced with ever new and disrupting challenges—continue to operate from a base model of “Command & Control;” they’ve just become more advanced and sophisticated at it, what Stephen calls “Enlightened Command & Control.”
In contrast to Command & Control, Trust & Inspire is all about unleashing greatness in others. Leading in a way that both inspires and empowers people to become the best version of themselves—tapping into a sense of purpose, meaning, contribution and inclusion. The result is a level of belonging, collaboration, and ultimately innovation that Command & Control is simply not capable of producing.
Stephen asserts that trust has become the new currency of our world, and that having the ability to develop, extend, and restore trust with all stakeholders is the number one competency of leadership needed today. He passionately delivers this message and is dedicated to enabling individuals and organizations to reap the dividends of high trust throughout the world. Audiences and organizations alike resonate with his tangible, practical approach to trust.
Stephen is the former CEO of Covey Leadership Center, which, under his direction, became the largest leadership development company in the world. He personally led the strategy that propelled his father’s book, Dr. Stephen R. Covey’s The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, to become one of the two most influential business books of the 20th Century, according to CEO Magazine. A Harvard MBA, Stephen joined Covey Leadership Center as a Client Developer, became National Sales Manager, and then President & CEO. Under Stephen’s leadership, the company achieved Inc. 500 status, nearly doubled revenues while increasing profits by 12 times, and expanded into over 40 countries. This greatly increased the value of the brand and company. Within three years of being named CEO, Stephen had increased shareholder value by 67 times in a merger with then FranklinQuest to form FranklinCovey.
Over the years, Stephen has gained considerable respect and influence with executives and leaders of Fortune 500 companies as well as with mid- and small-sized private sector and public sector organizations he’s consulted. Clients recognize his unique perspective on real-world organizational issues based on his practical experience as a former CEO.
Stephen serves on numerous boards, including the Government Leadership Advisory Council, and he has been recognized with the lifetime Achievement Award for “Top Thought Leaders in Trust” from the advocacy group, Trust Across America/Trust Around the World.
Stephen resides with his wife and children in the shadows of the Rocky Mountains.

223. The Stringer Interviews The Host: Judge Alex Ferrer
Monday Apr 18, 2022
Monday Apr 18, 2022
All rise! On today’s Better Call Daddy Show you’ll hear from a tv judge one who developed a second show called Whistleblower! There are a lot of nuances based on state law! From police officer to lawyer to judge to tv judge, Judge Alex Ferrer has done it all! What makes a network show work? What was it like to move the show from Houston to LA? What are the union rules like in television? Are the cases real on court television? What has Judge Alex learned about Hollywood? Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Controversy!
Alex Ferrer’s family fled communist Cuba to the United States when he was just a baby. Starting a new life in America, his parents exchanged well-paying careers with an American company in Havana for minimum wage jobs in Miami in order to live in freedom. Watching his parents work several jobs a day to make ends meet, Alex was raised with a strong work ethic. It is that perspective and an appreciation for the opportunities America provides that make his success story a true “American Dream.”
Alex began working full time at the age of fifteen, pumping gas at a full-service station, performing oil changes and minor vehicle repairs. He worked six to seven days a week while attending high school during the day. By the time he was seventeen Alex was managing the gas station, closing it down at night on his own and taking the day’s receipts to the owner’s home.
When he was 18, Alex obtained his pilot’s license but quickly realized that, while flying was a great hobby, the thought of constantly leaving his family to travel across the country did not appeal to him as a career. Changing gears, he decided to pursue a career in law enforcement. After much resistance because of his young age, Alex finally succeeded in getting a police department to send him to the academy, where officers challenged him every day for being “too young.” Proving them wrong, Alex graduated with the highest award in the police academy, the “Most Outstanding Recruit,” becoming one of the youngest police officers in the State of Florida at the age of 19.
Honoring a promise to his parents to keep taking advantage of the educational opportunities America provided, Alex worked full-time as a cop while attending college and eventually law school full-time as well. In law school, this meant attending class daily from 8 to 4 and then donning a uniform and patrolling from 4:30 to 12:30. A late arrest would result in his not returning home until 2 or 3 in the morning but the next day’s class would still start at 8am. Despite this rigorous work schedule, Alex was able to become a published member of the University of Miami Law Review, an accomplishment that led to many career opportunities upon graduation.
As an attorney, Alex worked as a civil litigator at some of the better law firms in Miami. Despite being very successful in his new career, the personal gratification he had felt as a police officer was noticeably lacking. Anticipating that being a judge would renew the sense of satisfaction he had felt as an officer, Alex ran for a seat on the Circuit Court bench, the highest trial court in the state. Despite being the youngest candidate at 34, he beat out his two opponents, a sitting judge and an attorney 20 years his senior, by a landslide; becoming the youngest judge on Miami’s Circuit Court and the first Cuban-American lawyer ever elected to the Circuit Court bench.
During his years on the bench, Judge Ferrer tried some of Miami’s worst criminals. Serial killers, murderers, rapists, armed robbers and kidnappers all passed through his courtroom. Many trials were covered nationally and several have been the subject of books, documentaries and at least one upcoming movie. He taught and continues to teach judges annually at judicial conferences throughout Florida.
After 10 years on the bench, Judge Ferrer was being considered for a vacancy on Miami’s prestigious Third District Court of Appeals. Out of 60 well-respected judges and lawyers, he was the only applicant to have been unanimously recommended to Florida’s Governor by the Judicial Nominating Commission. Choosing instead to pursue a television opportunity, Judge Ferrer withdrew his name from the Governor’s consideration and began resolving disputes in 2005 on his nationally syndicated, televised courtroom show: “Judge Alex,” which has aired in 96% of the U.S for 9 seasons. In 2008 he was named the “Most Trustworthy Daytime Television Host,” beating out such household names as Oprah, Ellen, Regis and Dr. Phil, and was included in People Magazine’s Sexiest Man edition.
Alex’s story starts with him as the child of parents who gave up everything they had so that their family could live in freedom. Working hard through high school, college and law school, his accomplishments included several individual careers on his way to becoming a nationally recognized celebrity and well-respected legal analyst.
Whatever opportunities the future holds, there is no doubt that Alex’s story is truly the American Dream.

How do you NOT quit? How do you go from victim to victor? Today's guest is a former marine, well-known ultra-endurance athlete, and Muay Thai champ, Tom Jones has been doing self-improvement for years. In fact, he's certified in Mark Divine's Unbeatable Mind coaching program. Fail Forward Fast! He recently helped one of my former guests, Lily Brasch, reach a new world record at Camelback Mountain. Lily Brasch has never met anyone with the condition she has, it's a rare form of muscular dystrophy. She had been encouraged to quit, sit in a wheelchair and take a free ride, and the two of them bonded over not accepting what others told them in their childhoods. They both go against the grain together and showed true grit. Tonight is Passover which is all about getting over doubt, uncertainty, and being in over your head, believing in yourself and G-d for strength to preserve. When we put ego aside perspective widens. Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Controversy.
We are the master of our own ship! Tom Jones ran to New York for 120 consecutive marathons and spoke at Niketown it may have involved tears! Sacred silence and being okay in his own skin. He's getting ready to run 76 marathons in a row from Alabama to Utah for United We Pledge. Got your attention? His childhood was a dumpster fire, he experienced pedophilia, the marine corp helped him find inspiration, Chuck Norris was an amazing role model, and patriot, then he became a bodyguard and toured the world, he set a world record on a stand-up paddleboard, and created an education program for children, rethinking single-use plastic. It's all a choice! Take action! What's your marathon today?

Sometimes you meet people on Facebook, sometimes people introduce you, and sometimes you get juicy guests by someone posting in a Jay Shetty coaching group about your podcast! Universal consciousness is all about connecting with people and making an impact. Paul Wilson has gotten out of a really dark place in fact he’s asked himself why am I not dead yet? Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Controversy! Trigger warning mentions of suicide.
Paul Wilson is the go-to Mindset Coach for ambitious business owners.
Paul has dedicated the last 29 years to helping people, either as The Emergency Response Manager at the Channel Tunnel and the Mindset Maestro for business owners.
This year Paul successfully partnered with business coach Lisa Johnson - creator of “Passion for Passive” and owner of the massively successful “GSD” Facebook group - to help her clients with a wide variety of mindset issues.
Paul has turned his lifelong interest in the mind and human behaviour into his new career helping people remove unwanted mental baggage and to step out of their own way.
Trained in the radically different hypnosis without trance method “The Control System” created by Tim Box, Paul has studied more traditional methods including those of Milton Erickson, Dr Jonathan Royle, Jonathan Chase, Richard Bandler and Scott Jansen. Paul now uses a blend of all of these methods in his own system.
He also attended Tony Robbins’ “Unleash the Power Within”Weekend and walked on hot coals.
In preparation for his new venture, Paul spent much of 2018 training and learning new skills.
One of the highlights was Logan Murray's Stand Up Comedy course, during which he performed two live stand up gigs. The “graduation” gig held at The Water Rats, North London, where Oasis played their first concert in the capital.

215. Craig & Neshama Parks Party Central Daddy Daughter Duo
Monday Mar 21, 2022
Monday Mar 21, 2022
I absolutely loved the message I received from today’s guest Craig Parks:
“First off I want to say thank you so much for the podcast you did with Oscar Stewart. As a synagogue professional myself and in light of what happened in Texas this episode really resonated with me as we try to balance security with our Jewish value of hachnasat orchim, welcoming the stranger.
Your podcast is so diverse and as a professional musician, parent educator and entrepreneur it would be a treat to share music, stories, and ways for parents to create lifelong happy childhood memories with their kids.
I started a show with my then 5 year old daughter when the pandemic started filled with music, shtick, and interactive games on FB LIve. We have done 64 episodes so far and I put a couple of them on YouTube if you want to check it out. It is called Parks Party Central. Being a camp director of Jewish day camps for 25 years and being a dad of two has taught me a ton that I am now ready to share with the world.
Fun songs, parenting advice that can help them increase joy and reduce stress, and leaving your audience with hope & inspiration would be great.”
I knew I had to have Craig and his daughter Neshama on after that message!
What kind of relationship do you want with your kids and your world? When life doesn’t go as planned and it’s not working, then what? Today we are talking and singing along with Craig Parks who’s been a camp director for 25 years and was afraid to be a girl dad! He’s now a dad of 2, a husband, and a parent educator! Today you guys are in for a musical Daddy daughter duo treat! Craig teaches parents to have fun with their children he says you need to open up and use your voice and intentionality!
