Reena loves a story, and she‘s fascinated by the people behind them. She loves to bring stories to life. Her appetite for storytelling has taken her from the Jerry Springer Show to the legal drama of the courtroom. From influential players to reality stars, nothing is censored here. Reena interviews people whose stories haven‘t been told, at least not through her unique lens, and then gets daddy‘s advice afterward like a good daughter does. Whether you have daddy issues or a father who‘s inspired your path, you will be able to tap into my daddy‘s wisdom, wit, and humor at the end of every episode. My daddy has been a guiding light my whole life and there‘s not much he doesn‘t know, as an entrepreneur for forty-plus years, a husband, a loyal son, and my number one supporter. He has learned lots of life lessons along the way and is here to share them with you. It‘s time to reminisce and reflect on the conversations you‘d like to have with your daddy and learn from mine. Come share in some good old-fashioned family bonding and help us up our wisdom rating. There is wisdom from four generations and I’m addressing what happens from childhood to adulthood!

235. Interviewed By A 10th Grader, Eli Erlanger, Do Not Hesitate!
Friday Jun 03, 2022
Friday Jun 03, 2022
Today’s guest, Eli Erlanger, is a 10th grader, who is a truth seeker and wanted to do some investigative journalism of his own! He sent me a message on Instagram about the Oscar Stewart, the Protector of Poway Chabad episode 193 I did and I loved his approach! Read his message below.
Hello Mrs.Watts,
I am Eli Erlanger and I am a student from the Wellington School in Columbus Ohio. I am doing a social history project on the Poway Synagogue Shooting. I would love to get your insights as I need one more interview and I think you are the perfect person after listening to your podcast. It’s a short interview only 10-15 minutes max. I could send you the completed interview when the project is done.
Thank you,
Eli
Oscar Stewart Episode was a re-broadcast of the live interview I did with army veteran Oscar Stewart, the Protector of Poway Chabad at a Shul Safety Team Officer event in Chicago sponsored by the Concerned Citizen's League.
When the shooting started in Poway that Passover, chaos erupted, and human instincts kicked in. As an army veteran, he knew what he had to do, and didn't think twice. Oscar did two tours during Operation Iraqi Freedom, and his training prepared him as he ran into the line of fire.
Stewart emphasized the importance of training repeatedly until the responses to a situation become instinctual.
"Whatever it was that moved through him at that moment, it propelled Stewart into the lobby. He saw the young man — who authorities say was 19-year-old John T. Earnest — in a military-style vest wielding a semiautomatic rifle."
“Get down!” Stewart yelled in the loudest tenor he could muster.
The gunman fired two more rounds in response.
“I’m going to kill you,” Stewart boomed. This seemed to rattle Earnest, who began to flee. Fight like you train today of the Better Call Daddy Show: The Safe Space For Controversy! Violence and anti-semitism is unacceptable and effects the entire community!

233. Speaking Up For Sportsmanship, Riley Gaines Learned From Her Dad!
Friday May 27, 2022
Friday May 27, 2022
Today I’m speaking to Riley Gaines who’s speaking up for the injustices in sports! It’s not just about politics, it’s about fairness! She has athleticism in her blood and real role model parents! Her dad was even an NFL player!
You may recognize Riley’s name from the news, she’s recently made headlines for speaking out against injustices in the athletic world against women. This was sparked at a recent NCAA swimming competition where Riley tied for fifth place with a transgender women who is biologically male, Lia Thomas. Riley was told the trophy would be given to her opponent and she would wait for hers in the mail. What infuriated her was not the trophy or lack thereof but the fact that she as a woman at a woman’s competition was pushed aside and disregarded. Today we find out what issues she is facing and why she is speaking up. Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Controversy!

232. Chess, A Unifying Language For All. Evan Rabin
Monday May 23, 2022
Monday May 23, 2022
Love is in the air today on the Better Call Daddy Show! I interview Evan Rabin days after he proposed to his fiancé! Shout out to Stacey Ehrlick! Mazal tov! He’s a true New Yorker, a National chess master, podcaster, host of Premier Chess Podcast, and fabulous Shaily Hakimian connected us! Developing a chess mindset can be a competitive sport! Chess has been in my family for years and today Daddy’s giving some advice to the newly engaged couple! Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Controversy!
Premier Chess CEO Evan Rabin fell in love with chess at a young age. When he was 7 his brother and father taught him how to play. Two months later he was playing in school. Two months after that, he went to his first tournament. One month later he went to Nationals. He never looked back.
After graduating from Brandeis University Evan started teaching chess full-time, but eventually decided to set his sights on the corporate world, working at Oracle and Rapid7 and briefly running his own sales company, Pillar Sales.
However, Evan became disillusioned with corporate life. Emphasis on golf and commission did not match the reward that he felt from making a difference in students’ lives. So one night, at the wedding of one of his old chess buddies, Evan had the realization that chess was where he wanted to be full-time.
Evan left Pillar Sales, in July of 2017 and founded Premier Chess. Utilizing the chess network that he had built throughout his life and his sales experience, Evan started programs in 14 schools within 2 months. From there he started offering corporate classes, working with clients like Kramer-Levin, a top New York City law firm, and Movable Inc.
Premier Chess became about creating access. Everyone has a lot to gain from chess and deserves the opportunity to give it a shot regardless of geography. So Evan started taking on students in remote areas through Skype, expanding to 5 states, and even teaching as far as Tanzania.
Now, partnering with vendors like the National Scholastic Chess Foundation, National Education Chess Association, and Top Level Chess, Premier Chess is expanding to Florida, Massachusetts, Washington, Colorado, while international efforts are continuing in Myanmar.
One day, Evan hopes that any student anywhere in the world who wants to play chess will be able to.

231. To Love And Be Loved After Trafficking And Trauma. Lena Cebula
Friday May 20, 2022
Friday May 20, 2022
Lena Cebula never would have imagined sharing her miraculous story. She felt like there was no hope for someone like her growing up in Ukraine. She was human trafficked to Israel, addicted to drugs, found God, and had her prayers answered. Today she’s a Christian, an author, motivational speaker, podcaster, host of Love & Bloved, and social justice advocate. Her podcast was created to encourage, inspire and to give hope. If you have pain, keep trying! Have faith!
Better Call Daddy: The Safe Space For Comtroversy.
Are you struggling to believe there is a purpose for your life, that you can make
sense of what seems like a mess? Struggling to believe that there is someone -anyone - who cares about you? Struggling to believe that after all you've been through, seen, or done that there is a chance you'll ever find peace and wholeness again? As a little girl growing up in a post-USSR Ukrainian iron mining town, Lena spent her life grappling with these same questions. This raw, transparent account of her life chronicles the years she spent running -
running from a broken family, broken country, and broken dreams - in pursuit of something or someone who could calm the hopeless nightmare that her life had become. Drug addicted, alcohol dependent, and twice trafficked to foreign countries, she still had glimpses of what her life could be and kept chasing the elusive peace she constantly craved. However, on the other side of each empty promise of fulfillment she only ever found more pain until one day, one promise checked out. Lena met someone who showed her she didn't have to run anymore. Miraculous is a story of the storm before the calm, a journey from pain to healing. It is Lena's story, but it could be yours, too.
